The husband and wife team who established Vintage
Limousine Hire first started trading in Bedfordshire back in 1986 with a
taxi/private hire company. Over the years the business moved up market to more
of a luxury, VIP and wedding car hire service using modern cars. They spent
many years without success searching for a special wedding car that had the
“wow” factor, a wedding car that every bride would want to be driven in,
something unusual that would impress everyone:
A vintage car that was big enough to seat the
complete bridal party.
Have an open roof for the hot summer weddings, yet
be 100% dry in wet weather and warm on cold days.
Have the classic charm of the 1930s, but the
reliability of a new car.
The criteria seemed impossible to meet. Until in 2003 when
they discovered an empty body shell of a 1931 Model A Ford which had been
reproduced to the original dimensions and stretched between the doors, turning
the vintage four door American saloon car into a spacious seven seater vintage limousine.
A five year build project began to turn the
empty shell into a beautiful vehicle that would meet the extremely high
standards set by this top wedding car hire company. No expense was spared in
the build process, the beige leather seats are complemented by the walnut trim
and black wool carpet, a heater was fitted for winter weddings, and a huge
sunroof was built especially for this vehicle for hot, summer weddings. The
whitewall tyres, large headlights and an original 1930 klaxon horn add to the
elegant, vintage feel. All new mechanical parts were installed to give the
reliability needed by Vintage Limousine Hire, as well as their clients on their
wedding day. The wide doors and extra row of seats enable the transportation of
larger parties as well as brides with full wedding gowns and allows clients to
save money by hiring one large vehicle, instead of two small cars. This 1930s vintage
limousine, known as a Bramwith, is an extremely popular wedding car; we
recommend booking early to avoid disappointment.
